Jobs / Internships:

Web Developer @ Mindblossom

Completed several different web development projects for a handful of major clients based on their required specifications. Several of these projects required working with different indiviuals with different work ethics and standards. My role in these teams was that of a mediator and communication expert to make sure that everyone in the team knew how things should progress and how the set goals should be achieved without any conflict between indiviual team memebers, as well as the clients.

Interests / Life Experiences:

Music Teacher

Taught several different indiviuals how to construct music on a guitar. Helped them understand the theory behind making and understanding of the music, how different chords and scales connect and correspond with each other in order to make the familiar sound that we know and perceive as "Music". Taught students how each note is to be used to create a specific sound of guitar in terms of words and sentences forming a two-way communication between singer and the guitarist.

Courses

Most software development courses require some degree of teamwork. In the past, I have worked in small groups of teams to reach college projects deadlines and from my experience, teamwork is an essential requirement to tackle enormous projects, which are mostly completed faster and more efficiently with more people involved in the workings of the project. Teamwork can be an asset when an understanding has been established among its memebers, otherwise it can also be a stressful situation with no solution. Some courses that I enrolled in Seneca College that required teamwork effort is:

Business Requirements Analysis using OO Models, System Analysis and Design using UML, Canadian Business Environment, Design Patterns in UML, Marketing Principles and Practices, Project Management Methodologies, Technology Planning and Acquisition.

Jobs / Internships:

Software Developer @ ABEL (Advanced Broadband Enabled Learning)

ABEL is an award winning program that provides access to a community of K-12 and post secondary educators, an established open learning platform, and a research and evaluation program. At ABEL, I was hired as a Software/Web Developer and my job description involved developing and maintaining websites and software for the ABEL program. I was a part of a team of software developers who collaborated together to work on software and web development projects for the ABEL project.

Interests / Life Experiences:

Guitarist in a Rock band

In summer of 2006, I was a member of an indie basement rock band as a lead guitarist. I recognized that performing in a band requires extremely high level of teamwork. Several pieces of songs are prepared each week in layers for recordings of a song. As a band member, I had to ensure that everyone was a team player. I had to ensure that every member attended rehearsals and that practice was sedulous. I am not a professional player and most of our memebers are amateurs struggling musicians, thus effective routine practice was very important. Strong teamwork ensured our performances were of a high standard which was reflected on our "open mic" concert performances.

I also acted as the primary contact for the different graphic designers, managed the data related to the website, and was also responsible for organizing, training, and overseeing the progress of the webpage and the accompanying graphics being developed under a tight deadline.

Service / Volunteer Work:

I volunteered as computer lab assistant at "Seneca College @ York" in my early years of college studies.
